The trend of undergoing plastic surgery to improve facial appearance and body shape by men and women is growing across year by year according to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons. The board has been collecting information about plastic surgeries conducted in United States for the past 15 years and the statistics show that more than fifty percent of.
Americans consider cosmetic surgery like any other necessary procedure and demand for them has grown by 5-6 percent every year. Though the growth trend had slowed down during 2008 due to economic recession it quickly reversed back and in 2013 showed a massive increase of 12 percent as Americans underwent 11 million both surgical and non surgical procedures amounting to more than 12 billion dollars.
Top surgical procedures as per latest report from ASPS
Liposuction – This fat reduction surgical procedure is performed by plastic surgeon Brian J. Parker MD, as a part of body sculpting to improve shape and structure of men and women in Las Vegas. During 2014 around 342,494 procedures were performed which was below 363,912 procedures in 2013.
Breast Augmentation – From the time plastic surgery became prevalent and breast implants were developed, breast augmentation became the most popular procedure though it showed a decline in 2014 with only 286,694 procedures.
Eyelid Surgery, Tummy Tuck and Nose Surgery – These three were also among top five plastic surgery procedures preferred by men and women of Las Vegas like other places in United States. Statistics show details of these procedures carried out by certified plastic surgeons. Both men and women opted in greater numbers for eyelid and nose surgery which grew by 58 percent and 53 percent respectively between 2012 and 2014.
Top Five Non Surgical Procedures for Men and Women

Hair Removal – There has a been a decrease in some procedures like ear surgery and photo rejuvenation between 12 – 18 percent and even hair removal procedures which recorded increase of 2 percent in 2013 with 901,571 procedures, witnessed a decrease in 2014 with 828,480 procedures. Despite these statistics there has been an overall increase in facial rejuvenation procedures in Las Vegas
Chemical Peel – Men are not far behind the fairer sex in terms of non invasive cosmetic procedures in Las Vegas and are undergoing for non surgical skin tightening procedures and chemical peel treatments to reduce sun damaged skin, scars and spots.
Microdermabrasion – Of the 417034 microdermabrasion procedures performed this year on men and women a large percentage were carried out to give the exposed skin a healthy glow.
